10.05.2026 Calls to action
No Hospital Acquisitions Without Community Benefits
Two major hospital acquisitions are being considered in Minnesota: North Memorial Health by South Dakota-based Sanford Health, and Allina Health by California-based Sutter Health. These deals could reshape where we get care, what it costs, and who makes decisions about the hospitals and clinics we depend on.
Over the past 25 years, Minnesota has gone from 68 independent hospitals to fewer than one-third remaining independent. During that same time, hospital prices have nearly tripled. Too often, hospital acquisitions lead to higher costs, fewer choices, cuts that hurt frontline healthcare workers, and decisions made farther away from the communities they affect.
Sign this petition to call on CEOs and Minnesota leaders to require that any acquisition include real, enforceable benefits for our communities.
Appleton Detention facility Call to Action
Inhumane treatment and medical neglect are rife across ICE's detention system: at least 27 people have died this year in ICE custody or within 30 days of release. CoreCivic, which runs the Prairie facility for ICE, is known for abusive practices including sexual and physical abuse, medical neglect, excessive solitary confinement, and deprivation of food and water.
Members of Congress have the right and responsibility to conduct unannounced inspections of ICE facilities, despite ICE's efforts to block them. Urge Minnesota's members of Congress to demand access to and oversight of the Prairie Detention facility in Appleton, MN. Send a message to your representatives here.
