July 17, 6PM CT

On July 17th, the 5th anniversary of Rep. John Lewis’ passing, we’re mobilizing in Minneapolis and across the country to demand that Congress protect our rights and ensure free and fair elections for all. John Lewis taught us that nonviolent direct action is a moral force, and that we must confront injustice wherever it lives — whether in the halls of power, in the courts, or on our own streets.

Come make good trouble with us

The same spirit that fueled Selma, Montgomery, and the March on Washington lives on in our unified action. This is our moment to carry the torch, continue the legacy of John Lewis, and pass it forward to future generations. We are not spectators to history. We are the makers of it.

Together, we can push back against the Trump administration and realize a democracy that works for us. Join us for our Good Trouble Lives On: Twin Cities Rally and March on Thurs, July 17.

  • Who was John Lewis (with photo)

    Congressman. Activist. Leader.

John Lewis (1940-2020), was a U.S. Representative of Georgia, advocate for nonviolent action, and a key figure in the fight for civil rights from his participation in Selma marches to speaking at the historic March on Washington in 1963.

A proponent for “Good Trouble,” Congressman Lewis used his elected position to fight for civil and voting rights, the rights of women, children and veterans, affordable healthcare, anti-war efforts and immigration reform. In 2011, Lewis was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
